HEY……..United Microelectronics Corp (ADR) (NYSE:UMC) gained 4.70% at $3.28 on 302K shares. On August 24, 2009, United Microelectronics Corp. announced that its board has approved setting up a new unit to develop solar and light-emitting-diode business. UMC expects the 100%-owned unit's capital to reach NT$1.5 billion. The unit, UMC New Business Investment Corp., will be headed by Wen Yang Chen, currently a senior vice president at UMC…………….

HELLO…………..Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (NYSE:AMD) gained 10% on 2.56 million shares at $4.08. The 52 week trading range for the stock is “$1.62 and $6.47”. On August 24, 2009, Citigroup upgraded Advanced Micro Devices Inc. to buy from hold, citing valuation. Citi reported that it recognizes AMD's competitive position is poor, but added that it is trading at a 45% discount to its peer group, making the risk/reward balance favorable………………..
